Bad press is something we deviants suffer constantly. In the dying days of the mainstream print media, newspaper chains seek to pay less attention to research and thought-provoking news, and give more column inches to articles that prey on the public’s most base prejudices and fears. Articles about any consensual but unconventional sexuality that aim solely to scaremonger and rile the bigots shouldn’t be left unchallenged. Thus, I launch the JAN MOIR AWARD FOR SHODDY JOURNALISM. Every journalist nominated will receive a prize appropriate to their personal prejudices. Potential nomination and award ideas are welcome.
